Rottweiler Kennel „Bossilek“ — History and Team

The kennel was founded in 1988 with the import into Bulgaria of the breed’s first two dogs from the former Czechoslovakia — one of them, Darta Beryl, was also the first pedigree Rottweiler in our home, placed at every show she entered. In 1993–1994 we received as a gift from Nasko Sirakov — one of the greatest Bulgarian footballers of all time — a male dog of excellent conformation, imported from Spain (Ingo del Raco d’Aroca), and from the chairman of the Macedonian cynological federation, Mr. Slobodan Miloshevski, we bought three sisters — Deniz, Dona and Dina — who won an exceptional number of titles and left behind generations of champions. Since then we have worked mainly with our own female lines, carefully selecting elite males — initially from neighboring countries, and more recently from the world elite.

Our results speak for themselves: on average, out of every ten shows we attend, we win nine first places and one second. Beyond their looks, our dogs fully meet modern requirements for character and behavior — combining a stable nervous system, good working qualities, and a peaceable temperament strongly attached to the family, proven at socialization and breed-suitability trials. We breed carefully, on average one female per year, and personally select the future owners of every puppy.

Kennel Achievements

The kennel is registered under FCI No. 46/99. Over the years our dogs have won 43× CAC, 25× CACIB, 24× BOB, 10× BOG, 2× BIS, 80× „Excellent“ ratings, and numerous other awards from shows in Bulgaria and abroad.

The Team Behind „Bossilek“

The kennel is run by the Petkov family — Vladimir Petkov, Boryana Petkova and Daniela Petkova. Daniela Petkova holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering, has been chairwoman of the National „Rottweiler“ Club since 2008, and is a specialized conformation judge for the Rottweiler breed and an international judge for FCI Group II. Their daughter Vladislava has grown up alongside the dogs since early childhood — a family tradition that carries the care and love for the breed through the generations.
